Bălănești Hill and Codru Forest
Located just 2.3 km away from Poarta Neamului is Moldova’s highest point, Bălănești Hill (430 meters). The hiking and cycling routes that lead from Sipoteni to Bălănești Hill go right past us so it’s easy to follow the trails from our place up to the top of Moldova. From Bălănești Hill you’ll have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and rolling hills.
Continue your hike past Bălănești Hill to go into the Codru Forest and enjoy its hiking trails.
Temeleuți Landscape Reserve
Poarta Neamului is located right on the edge of Temeleuti Landscape Reserve, providing easy access to the beautiful forest and different hiking and cycling trails.
Pădurea Plaiul Scientific Reserve
The Pădurea Plaiul Scientific Reserve is just a few kilometers away from Poarta Neamului so it is easy to hike or cycle into the protected area and its forests. The Reserve has many different hiking trails to choose from, as well as picnic and BBQ areas.
