Poarta Neamului in central-northwestern Moldova serves as gateway to nature, culture and other unique experiences. The tourist complex at Poarta Neamulu in Temeuti village offers the following services and facilities for guests to enjoy during their visit to us, whether it is to enjoy a delicious homecooked lunch in the garden or visit the museum or go hiking to nearby Balanesti Hill or around the surrounding landscapes.

Restaurant and Food Services
Poarta Neamului’s small restaurant and café has a short, but delicious, menu of traditional Moldovan dishes, all made from grandma’s recipes in a wood oven. We are only focusing on offering 3-4 dishes because we want to reflect what and how our grandma used to cook at this house decades ago and preserve this tradition for new generations.
In addition to being able to eat at Poarta Neamului in our garden setting, we also offer the option of takeaway or picnic lunches for a hike or bike ride.
Traditional Museum
Our family has lovingly renovated and decorated our grandma’s 100-year-old house and have converted it into a traditional museum of Moldovan culture and rural life. The Poarta Neamului Museum aims to preserve and celebrate the local cultural heritage, traditional handicrafts, and rural lifestyle for current and future generations.
The museum also occasionally hosts live events, performances and concerts.
Event Space and Catering
If you are looking for a special place not far from Chisinau to host a teambuilding event, small conference, yoga retreat, or event related to nature and wellness, Puorta Neamului offers different types of outdoor event spaces, catering and other retreat services.
Our large garden space provides the perfect environment to get away from the stresses of the city and connect with nature. We are also located only three minutes away from the lake, which is another beautiful setting for a retreat.
Camping Area
Poarta Neamului tourist complex offers camping grounds in territory where visitors can stay in one of our tents set up in the garden or camp in their own tent. Campers will have access to bathroom facilities, water and other basic services.
Souvenir Shop
The Poarta Neamului souvenir shop sells handicrafts and natural products from local artisans and producers. We also sell food products made from grandma’s recipes and with fruits and vegetables straight from the garden. Homemade crafts and natural food products make the best souvenirs or gifts for your family and friends.
Cooking Course
Not only can you enjoy eating placinte and other traditional dishes made with grandma’s recipes at Poarta Neamului, but you also have an opportunity to learn how to make them yourself with our cooking course. We take you through the whole preparation and cooking process, including how to use a traditional wood stove, so that you know how to make these delicious dishes yourself at home.
Guided Tours for Hiking and Mushroom Picking
If you want to go deep into the forest and natural areas with a local expert, Poarta Neamului offers guiding services for hiking and mushroom picking. Our local hiking guides will take you on different local trails through the forest and over the hills, even up to the highest point in Moldova at Balanesti Hill.
During mushroom season we also offer special mushroom picking tours in the nearby forest so that you learn where to find the best forest mushrooms and also be sure that everything you pick is safe and healthy.
Bicycles and Hiking Equipment
Poarta Neamului rents out mountain bicycles for those who want to explore the nearby forests and trails by bike. We also have a selection of hiking gear and other outdoor equipment for those who want to enjoy the nearby nature, but don’t have all the equipment.
